7 people were in the building, and one of them did not come out. Everyone was on a different square, one to a row and one to a column, on the 7 by 7 plan. Work out where each of them was, the victim included. Whoever was alone with the victim did it.

The cards

Good to know

Beside: on one of the four squares directly above, below, left or right, in the same room. Diagonally does not count, and neither does through a wall. A window or door in the wall of your square is beside you.
North of someone: in a higher row, in any column. The same goes for south, east and west.
Alone: nobody else in the same room, the victim included. Alone with someone: those two, and nobody else in that room.
In a corner: on a square of that room where two of its walls meet. The end of a narrow corridor counts too.
