Tap a square or drag Otis. Hold for a note.
The cards
Pick a person by tapping the photo on their card, the victim too. Then tap a square to put them there, or drag the photo onto it. At this difficulty the game doesn’t cross off rows and columns for you, unless you switch on Cross off for me. Holding a square, or switching the pencil on, makes a note. Keyboard: Enter places, Shift and Enter makes a note.

He was in the same room as Callum.
- Callum
He was in a corner of the courtyard.
He was beside the dog.
- Wren
She was beside a window.
- Felix
He was not beside the cooker, a barrel or the well.
He was in a corner of the courtyard.
- Rosa
She was the only person in the castle kitchen. Not even the victim was there.
- Arun
He was in the courtyard, beside the dog.
- The director
The victim. She was on the one square nobody else can have, in the same room as the murderer.
Good to know
- Beside: on one of the four squares directly above, below, left or right, in the same room. Diagonally doesn’t count, and neither does through a wall. A window or door in the wall of your square is beside you.
- Alone, or the only person in a room: nobody else in that room, the victim included. Alone with someone: those two, and nobody else in that room.
- In a corner: on a square of that room where two of its walls meet. The end of a narrow corridor counts too.
